4/9/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: Upon arrival to the home setting, QMHP engaged mother in a discussion about Laylah's behavior since the last session. Mother verbalized to QMHP on how Laylah has been arguing with her peers in the community then bringing the attitude back into the home and arguing with her grandparents which mother reports she argues with her grandparents at least 3 times weekly and behaviors (argument last about 5 minutes in duration). Behavior: During the second portion of the session, Laylah needed some redirection from QMHP as she was getting angry with her younger sibling for coming into her session at which she was yelling at her sister for 10 minutes while finishing up her session. Intervention: QMHP-C began session by inquiring about her emotional wellbeing. QMHP-C openly discussed her current behaviors in the home and interactions with her siblings and her mother. QMHP-C engaged Laylah in circular questions to assist with exploring underlying concerns for her behaviors toward authority. QMHP-C probed Laylah on her behaviors toward her sister and concerns for her physical aggression towards her. QMHP-C discussed communication skills instead of using physical aggression toward each other. QMHP-C instructed Laylah to develop a thorough list of all triggers and causes of anger and frustrations. Intervention: QMHP-C processed on age-appropriate decision-making, along with building effective communication. QMHP-C taught Laylah conflict resolution skills through modeling. QMHP-C processed on setting boundaries and limits in the home. QMHP-C probed Laylah to list ways in which anger has negatively impacted the way she communicates with others. QMHP-C provided Laylah with tentative examples of how anger impact others such as conflicts, loss of respect for self and others especially when they are physically aggressive in the home. Response: Laylah was receptive to QMHP-C's given suggestions. Laylah reported that she was in a physical altercation with her older sister. She reported that they were disrespectful toward each other that caused the fight. Laylah reported that she has been trying to communicate and express feelings with her family but its' been difficult as they have so many things going in the home. Response: Laylah reported that she made up with her sister 1 hour later by recognizes that they lack communications skills instead they act out in anger and talk down to each other. QMHP-C will use various activities (e.g. games, rewards) to assist Laylah in developing appropriate behavior skills to decrease interpersonal antisocialism with others in the home and community.
